"The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you."

— B.B. King

Started back in 2015 when Lupus Chick became a nonprofit, the organization gives away a college stipend award annually to someone in college who has been officially diagnosed with Lupus. Stipends can be used toward tuition, books, housing, or medical bills and are provided through individual donors or companies/brands. Since the start of the college stipend, nine college awards have been given away to students in need.

Helping with education is a top priority to Marisa and Lupus Chick, as Marisa has met many men and women over the years that have had to struggle financially because their health prevents them from working in their previous field. These men and women are seeking ways to educate themselves and be trained to do other types of employment that allows for proper management of their health, while also being able to support themselves. how to donate

If you're ready to get involved, please email Marisa at marisa@lupuschick.com to discuss the options. Use 'Stipend Donation' in the subject line of your email. After that, Marisa will be in touch to let you know what the next steps are.

• Send a copy of your schedule or transcripts, along with a 500-1000 word essay about your lupus story, what you are studying and how you advocate or spread awareness on lupus (and anything else you want to share with us) to Marisa@lupuschick.com.

• Please use “Stipend Application” in the subject line.

• If you are chosen, you will need to supply a letter from your physician that you have been diagnosed with lupus before the stipend is sent to you.
