Sanguine Partners with Lupus Chick for Annual Scholarship

September 1, 2015

Marisa Zeppieri

Lupus Chick is thrilled to announce a new partner in our annual Lupus Chick college scholarship program. The Lupus Chick scholarship will be awarded in the end of September, 2015 and will benefit a student attending college who has been diagnosed with Lupus. Because the scholarship award is based on donations, partnerships with Lupus Chick help us award larger sums to deserving students. To learn more about becoming a partner, email our founder here.

What is Sanguine Bio?

You may recognize Sanguine if you are a follower of Lupus Chick, as they have held multiple Lupus patient research studies in cities around the U.S. By signing up with Sanguine, you can help accelerate research. Sanguine believes personalized medicine is about creating treatments that are matched to your genetic data and health history. Patients who sign up and complete the research study are paid for their time and a donation is given to an organization on their behalf.

New York, San Francisco, Boston and Los Angeles residents: you can make a difference in 30minutes!

Lupus Chick has teamed up with Sanguine, a provider of at-home clinical research services, to help accelerate biomarker research for lupus. If you are over the age of 18 and have been diagnosed with lupus, you can help advance research for new lupus treatments by donating a sample of blood with Sanguine. Each time you donate, Sanguine will give you $50 for your time and donate $25 to the charity of  your choice, such as Lupus Chick.

What is preclinical research?

In preclinical research, researchers test their theories on human samples like blood rather than human participants. This phase helps researchers determine the safest and most effective way to move forward with their project and often helps define the parameters of future clinical trials.

How will my blood donation help?

Researchers will always rely on samples from the patient population that they are researching in order to perform their preclinical research. Your blood is special. It is the key to new therapies and diagnostics. Without it, researchers cannot move forward with their clinical tests and research projects are stalled or put on hold.

Why work with Sanguine?

Sanguine is a leading provider of at-home clinical research services empowering patients to participate in research studies from the comfort of their homes using smart technology and a mobile health staff.
